Dariush Alavi
When people ask where he’s from, Dariush first tells them that he was born in London to a Polish mother and an Iranian father, then mentions he was raised in his parents’ countries as well as in Dubai. If anyone’s still listening, he says that his passport informs him he’s British. This may be one reason why he likes to keep the style of his writing simple and spare. His short stories have been selected for Opening Lines (BBC Radio 4), Prism International magazine (Canada) and London’s own Tales Of The DeCongested. When he’s not producing shorter fiction, he’s trying to get to grips with his novel. Dariush currently lives in the south of England and works as a teacher.
