Peter Ackroyd
Some of us cockneys here at Pulp Net only picked up on Peter Ackroyd after he wrote London: the Biography, but he has an impressive back catalogue and has won a shocking number of awards and prizes as a biographer, novelist, poet and critic. He has other skills too; a feature writer with the Guardian newspaper once described him as being ‘as prolific a writer as he is a drinker’. Since 2003, Ackroyd also boasts the letters CBE after his name. Born in London on 5 October 1949, Peter Ackroyd lives in London.
