Katy Darby lives in King’s Cross, London, and when she is not writing she performs in a comedy act, Beauty and the Bitch and runs a cabaret night called Cabaret Sauvignon. When she is writing she works on plays, poetry and prose fiction. She has won the Frogmore and New Writer prizes for poetry and was a runner-up in the Royal Society of Literature’s 2004 VS Pritchett Short Story Prize. Samuel French has published two of her plays and nobody has published her first novel yet, but she’s working on the second anyway.
