Chris Mann Shaw was born in Blackburn and grew up in Stockport, Huddersfield, Bilbao and St Albans. At university he studied Drama and English and has since worked as a teacher, cleaner, gardener and mail sorter. He is also a semi-qualified hairdresser. In 1992 he moved to Nottingham where he continues to grow up and where he plans to do some more writing very soon. Married with two wonderful children – who generously describe him as lively – Chris is currently working at the People’s College.
