Sue Thomas is Professor of New Media at De Montfort University in Leicester. Her books include the novel Correspondence (1992), short-listed for the Arthur C Clarke Award; Water (1994), and an edited anthology Wild Women: Contemporary Short Stories By Women Celebrating Women (1994). A fascination with computers has led her to an appreciation of other inorganic ephemera, hence the mineral theme of Sistema Purificacion, but her usual preoccupation is with how the internet has changed us. Sue is a former artistic director of the trAce Online Writing Centre. Her most recent book is Hello World: travels in virtuality, a reflective memoir of wired life published by Raw Nerve.
